After installing vibration isolators, some customers may push the equipment by hand and feel that the movement is excessive. This evaluation method is incorrect.
A water pump generates rotational vibration during operation and does not produce large left–right swinging motions under normal running conditions. Therefore, vibration performance cannot be accurately judged by manual pushing.
During pump start-up and shutdown, the operating frequency changes over a short period of time. As the frequency passes through certain ranges, temporary resonance with the vibration isolator may occur, resulting in an increase in vibration amplitude.
This resonance is momentary and quickly stabilizes at a safe level. Once the pump reaches steady operating conditions, the vibration amplitude remains within the design limits of the vibration isolator. Therefore, this phenomenon is normal and does not indicate a performance issue.
